Issue: Accops HySecure gateway is not reachable, Need to restart network of Accops HySecure VM frequently.

Applicable Version: Accops HySecure 4.8.0.X

Resolution: Please follow below steps:

Step 1: Change eth0 as per below format.

#vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

The settings should look something like this. To start typing just click i (insert mode):

DEVICE=”eth0″

BOOTPROTO=static

ONBOOT=”yes”

TYPE=Ethernet

HWADDR=(this is where your MAC address will be. You can check if it is the same as the MAC address assigned to the machine in Hyper-V)

IPADDR=(You will enter your static IP address here)

NETMASK=(Type your network mask here)

GATEWAY=(Your default gateway IP)

DNS1=(Primary DNS Server IP)

DNS2=(Secondary DNS Server IP)

networking=yes

Step 2: After you set up your IP address you have to bring the interface UP.

#ifup eth0

Step 3: Verify DNS servers in the file /etc/resolv.conf.

#vi /etc/resolv.conf

nameserver (Primary DNS server IP)

nameserver (Secondary DNS server IP)

Step 4: add a special route for your network you can add it in a file named /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth0.

#vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth0

ADDRESS0=X.X.X.X
NETMASK0=X.X.X.X
GATEWAY0=X.X.X.X

NOTE:

ADDRESS0=X.X.X.X is the network number for the static route.
NETMASK0=X.X.X.X is the netmask for the network number defined with ADDRESS0=X.X.X.X.
GATEWAY0=X.X.X.X is the default gateway, or an IP address that can be used to reach ADDRESS0=X.X.X.X

Step 5: Verify hostname and gateway in a file named /etc/sysconfig/network.

#vi /etc/sysconfig/network

NETWORKING=yes

HOSTNAME=(Your hostname)

GATEWAY=(Your Gateway IP)

Step 6: Disable firewall on Accops HySecure Server.

#service iptables save
#service iptables stop
#chkconfig iptables off

# service ip6tables save
# service ip6tables stop
# chkconfig ip6tables off

Step 7: Update Development tools on Accops HySecure Server.

#yum groupinstall "Development Tools"

Step 8: The last thing you have to do is restart networking.

#service network restart
